Our Cannes award-winning #OutOfOffice campaign is back this Equal Pay Day with a new twist. Last year thousands of people set their email out of office to make a point about the gender pay gap: if women are effectively not being paid to work from this date, then why should they work? This year the campaign also takes on a new dimension as we witness media ‘not working until 2019’ in support of Out Of Office. Popular media channels including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, digital out-of-home and some websites will appear to be having technical faults with loading messages saying they’re also ‘not working’, as a way of emphasising the absurdity of the gender pay gap. We have also played with Twitter functionality to create a way for people to ‘switch on their Twitter out of office’ to show their support.
